Senior Manager, Content Strategy

Overview

Are you an experienced Content Strategist who is energized by creating compelling, thoughtful content programs that engage users across a variety of mediums? In this role, you will be responsible for publishing and managing a portfolio of communications that span a variety of different content types, including thought leadership, video, landing pages, email and social media assets. As part of Marketing Services, you will also work closely with our UX team to craft website content strategies that deliver unique user experiences to support our clients’ brand awareness and lead generation activities. This role is client-facing and will actively lead internal and external ideation and brainstorms, as well as contribute to overall agency thinking.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead discovery and strategy phase of website design and development projects, including content audits, UX research and testing, and persona and user journey development
Collaborate with UX designers on sitemap development and information architecture deliverables, producing in-depth page stories to outline the goal, audience, and structure of new pages and content types
Devise content strategies to convert new and existing customers for clients (i.e. outlining proposed content pillars, editorial calendars, nurture email campaigns, etc.)
Collaborate with other members of the Marketing Services team, as well as external partners, to implement content strategies
Develop content governance guidelines for tone, style, and voice of all content
Coordinate with freelancers, creatives, and designers to brief them on the client stories that will be told through editorial content, infographics, visuals, etc.
Collaborate with Marketing Analyst to track and calculate content ROI
Support the achievement of department goals through the management, mentorship and development of junior-level team members

DESIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Strong knowledge of SEO and inbound marketing best practices (i.e. Hubspot certified)
Survey development and UX testing tool knowledge (Qualtrics, HotJar, etc.)
Ability to maximize usability and accessibility of content
Excellent writing skills (able to provide samples)
Content management experience
Certified in Google Analytics, with experience measuring and communicating performance/value of published web content to C-level executives
Strong research and storytelling skills, with the proven ability to distill complex information into actionable takeaways and visuals that will resonate with general audiences
Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and client contacts
Multitasking and organizational skills – you will have to handle several types of projects and people regularly

MUST HAVES:

At least five (5) years of content strategy experience at a branding or marketing agency or on an in-house marketing team
Proficient working in Keynote, WordPress, Microsoft 360 and Google Suite tools
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications
• HubSpot or equivalent CRM certification
• Google Analytics certification

This position is located in either the greater Washington D.C. and Philadelphia markets with the ability to work remotely
