Associate Creative Director


Associate Creative Directors are emerging team leaders—enthusiastic and insightful professionals who foster collaboration, encourage strategic thinking, and expect breakthrough concepts and brilliantly executed solutions. They have high standards for all aspects of design, strategy and execution. They work closely with project managers and client strategists to ensure client needs are met and deliverables are on time, on target, and on budget.

Responsibilities include:

    •Guiding strategic and creative solutions for several accounts simultaneously

    •Giving direction to creative and account teams to ensure delivery of a flawless product

    •Guiding individuals and teams to solve business challenges with innovation and finesse

    •Effectively inspiring the team and the client through ideas, designs and quality mindset

    •Serving as effective brand stewards for every client

    •Applying critical and conceptual thinking, and breathing life into brand/marketing strategies

    •Maintaining and growing multiple client relationships

    •Ensuring all team members understand each client’s business

    •Recognizing and acquiring new design talent for the team

    •Supporting CDs with creative input and smart design execution


    •Approaches creative challenges with an open mind, listens carefully, and connects the dots

    •Demonstrates leadership abilities and affinity for building rapport, internally and externally

    •Inspires confidence and leads by example

    •Elicits input from the entire team and triggers engagement

    •Has sharp eye for concept and execution as well as production and business facets

    •Exhibits excellent communication skills and strives to articulate meaningful rationale for all decisions

Skills & talents:

    •Expert knowledge of traditional design trends and techniques

    •Expert understanding of offset printing techniques

    •Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and the ability to share it

    •Expert understanding of print production setup and printing oversight

    •Expert knowledge of digital printing and variable data considerations

    •Expert knowledge of all color space considerations

    •Excellent presentation skills, including persuasive speaking

    •Strong understanding of information architecture and user experience

    •Strong people management skills

    •Passion for conceptual thinking, logo design and visual identity development

    •Proficiency in HTML/CSS/JS and development considerations

    •Experience in broadcast and motion design a plus

    •Experience managing photographers and illustrators

    •Press inspection experience a must

Education & experience:

    •Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, or higher

    •7+ years experience defining and driving the design process and direction of both small and large interactive projects for Web and other digital media

    •Creating and designing interactive campaigns across multiple platforms

    •Managing and directing designers and other team members

    •Portfolio of recognizable work for high-profile clients expertly executed in a range of design skills and styles
